How to make one:

Step 1: The design
To create a digital podium graphic, you must first begin with the design. In VECTR, create a canvas that is 1080x1920 pixels (Note that this is the opposite of a landscape TV in 1920x1080 or 16x9. This is because we need the graphic to be in portrait mode to fill the whole lectern face. Your file should look something like this:

Once you have your canvas setup, you are good to all elements like logos, backgrounds, and other fun additions. While, there isn't much to go wrong here, there are a few considerations to help assist in the cohesion of your product. The fact is, Graphic design plays a critical role in enhancing communication and delivering information effectively. When it comes to designing a graphic for a lectern or digital podium display, it becomes vital to employ the principles of good design to ensure maximum visibility, readability, and engagement. That said, here are some key principles of good design and  how to apply them to create an impactful graphic!

I. Understanding the Purpose and Audience:
Before diving into the design process, it is important to understand the purpose of the lectern or digital podium display graphic. Is it meant to inform, guide, or inspire? Knowing the audience and their needs is crucial to tailor the design accordingly.

II. Utilize a Clear Hierarchy:
To ensure the information on the graphic is easily accessible and digestible, it is important to establish a hierarchical structure. Use typography to differentiate between titles, subtitles, and body text. Employ the principles of contrast and scale to emphasize key points or important messages.

III. Consistent Branding:
Maintaining consistent branding elements across all graphics is essential. Use the organization's colors, fonts, and logos to help create a cohesive design that aligns with the overall brand identity. This consistency helps enhance recognition and association with the content displayed.

IV. Typography and Readability:
Choosing the right typography is crucial for readability. Opt for fonts that are legible at a distance and ensure that the text size accommodates viewers from various seating positions. Pay attention to contrast and color combinations to maximize the readability – a light font on a dark background or vice versa can improve visibility.

V. Visual Elements:
Integrate appropriate visual elements into the design to enhance engagement and comprehension. Select relevant images, illustrations, icons, or infographics that support the topic and simplify complex information. Use vectors and high-resolution graphics to ensure clarity and sharpness.

VI. Balance and Composition:
Maintaining visual balance in the design is essential to avoid overwhelming the audience. Distribute content evenly across the graphic, ensuring a harmonious arrangement. Consider the rule of thirds or golden ratio to achieve an aesthetically pleasing composition.

VII. White Space:
Do not underestimate the power of white space or negative space. It allows content to breathe and avoids cluttering. Use ample white space to create focus, aid readability, and convey a sense of sophistication.

VIII. Accessibility:
Consider accessibility guidelines when designing graphics for a lectern or digital podium display. Ensure color contrast meets the requirements for visibility. Use alt text for images and provide captions for videos displayed on the graphic. Make the design inclusive, catering to individuals with different abilities.

IX. Test and Review:
Before finalizing the design, test it in the context of the lectern or digital podium display. Check the legibility, visibility, and clarity from various viewing angles and distances. Solicit feedback from stakeholders and make necessary revisions based on constructive suggestions.

NOTE: Be sure to be sensitive when designing a graphic. Get client approval on designs before doors open on an event. Altering a company's logo without their permission can lead to a multitude of dangers and negative consequences. Firstly, it undermines the company's brand identity and credibility, possibly leading to confusion among customers and stakeholders. Changing a logo without authorization can result in legal issues, including copyright infringement and trademark violations, exposing the individual or entity responsible to potential lawsuits and financial penalties. It also risks damaging established relationships, as the company may view such alterations as a breach of trust and professionalism. Furthermore, unauthorized logo changes can negatively impact a company's reputation, causing significant harm to their image and public perception. Therefore, altering a company's logo without proper authorization should be strongly discouraged, as it carries grave dangers for both the perpetrator and the company involved.

Okay, I have made my design, now what?

Once your design is complete, export it as a JPEG and load it onto a USB drive. This drive can then be inserted into either version of digital podium for display.
